The Builders — Media Spotlight: Micky
Introduce yourself to the reader:
In Australia, there’s a name for a wild, young bull.
That name, is Micky.
Established in 2017, Micky.com.au is for readers who refuse to follow the herd. It’s a place people go to learn about the future of finance, to think outside the square and engage with other Micky bulls.
In a short period of time, Micky has become Australia’s number one cryptocurrency and news website, with a rapidly growing audience. In December 2018, Micky attracted 61,000 unique visitors from around the world and nearly 200,000 page views. January’s statistics will be even more impressive.
Micky has built a strong team of contributors who are located across Australia and overseas. The Micky mission is to educate the world about blockchain and cryptocurrencies in a simple and entertaining way.
Micky sets itself apart from other websites by publishing sharp, clear articles that are free of technical jargon and even novices can understand.
Companies and blockchain projects across the globe are trusting Micky to tell their stories to a new generation of savvy investors.
A revolution is under way. Micky is here to document that revolution.

In your opinion, what is the biggest news in the crypto industry in in 2018?
Nobody can ignore the 2018 cryptocurrency market crash. It was – in Micky’s opinion – the biggest cryptocurrency story of the year.
But in Australia, and indeed around the world, the positive stories far outweighed the negatives.
In a huge endorsement of blockchain technology, Australian energy sharing project Power Ledger won the 2018 Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC), after impressing a judging panel which included Sir Richard Branson.
Early in the year it was announced travellers arriving or departing Brisbane airport would be able to use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies at its restaurants, shops and stores.
And In September, newly elected Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison revealed he “believes” in the disruptive power of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.
Do you have any predictions for 2019?
In 2019, the best blockchain projects will start to stand out from the rest of the herd. And Micky will be there to tell their stories.
